Hosting/Mail

April 29, 2003 · Posted in *nix · Comment

Guys I have free hosting and mail now available at my disposal. Since I installed RH8 on this guys new server and configured everything, including coping over all the old sites, databases etc. I did everything so its easy for me to maintain. So that means I get all the quirks of owning a server on a T1 without paying Jack for it.
So if you need to utilize me for any hosting or mail accounts, your know where I am.!!

I give up.

Today I came across this link regarding a “bug” in the RPM counter.

Although it doesn’t pertain to me I feel that I should at least attempt the record (with this model) two or three more times. If after that I can consistanly break 15,000 than at least I know I’m able. (Maybe I should try it out on different Powerballs to see for sure.) Besides, it’s rather boring sitting and looking at the thing for fear of erasing it. This is not why I spent 35 bucks. :)

So that’s it. As soon as I submit this I’m zeroing out my Powerball.

Here’s to science…

Vott has the Powerball World Record

April 28, 2003 · Posted in Sports · 5 Comments

Vott has blown away the current WORLD RECORD of 14458 by nearly 1000 rpms. Still waiting for him to send the photos. We will attach them as soon as we get it. Keep checking Powerball Scoreboard and look for his score to be placed on the list. Good Job man. Paul did his research by reading up on how the original 1st place holder got his score.

You read it first on Snowbrain!!

Planetside Open Beta is FINALLY released

April 27, 2003 · Posted in General · 4 Comments

I’ve been waiting for this game Planetside for about two years. Finally, it’s released as Open Beta through FilePlanet. The open beta download is – get this shit – 1.33GB. I’m at 29% complete now…

Anyway, here’s some linky link for ya. Interesting stuff. My main concerns are a) will Sony fuck it up (can they beat EA and BF1942) and b) is it going to attract a lot of EverQuest freaks. Ugh. Worse than film students.

We could use a video game category, maybe…

Peer Pressure

OK, OK, I ordered a freakin’ Powerball Gyroscope. This had better be worth it.

And I’m not going to start hanging out with you guys behind the Gas ‘N’ Sip on a Saturday night, either. Comparing RPMstats and breaking sound barriers and stuff. Freaks. (I will beat you both).

My F16 Flight System doesn’t ship until June anyway…with the 16 pound steel springs in there, maybe I need the Powerball Gyroscope to train for them?

10135

April 24, 2003 · Posted in Sports · 3 Comments

Powerball Update:

Well, it’s a start. 10135. Not close at all with the left though. I don’t think I’m agile enough yet to do it with both.

I will say this though… not using the string forces you to use your strength to get it up to 2000-3000 to ‘begin’ with. It doesn’t get more manly than that!

New Powerball to break 16000 barrier!

April 23, 2003 · Posted in Sports · 1 Comment

I saw today that the new Powerball is completely made of metal and can reach speeds over 16000 RPMs. Maybe we should try to order one now so it won’t take a zillion years to get here!

“…there is an all metal ‘super’ version which hasn’t been put into general production yet, which has seen scores of close to 16,000rpm…”

12,000 has been violated

Click here to enlargeAfter approxiamately 50 minutes of playing with the Powerball, I was able to surpass the “Pussy Stage” as the flyer states. I have graciously supplied a photo to show you my results. My top score was 12979 only 26rpm away from 30th place in the World.
Grendel you need to get yourself one of these to play with.

Powerball Gyroscope

April 22, 2003 · Posted in Sports · 1 Comment

Well Vott, my Gyroscope came in this morning. Got to test it out for about 2 minutes before I started to draw a crowd. It makes a subtle noise so when people here started to hear it they were like, what the hell is that noise?
I see how much fun these are going to be. First couple of tries I got it only to 3000, and thats when I started to figure out how it works. But again it gets louder the faster you go. So I will have to restrain myself to use it at home. Just at the 3000 rpms I could feel my forearm tightening up, and on the flyer they call you a pussy for anything under 11,000 rpm. I will not stand for that, I will defeat it. They also say that at 11,000 rpm after about 20 seconds it feels as if your arm is going to explode. Face it this thing generates up to 40 lbs of pressure on your muscles.
So if you guys see me with an overdeveloped right forearm, you know I have been using the Gyroscope a little to much. And don’t start with the perverted jokes either Stupe.
