Well, I’ve pretty much spent my entire Saturday trying to get the wireless Linksys PCMCIA card on my laptop to work. The access point rocks, no problem. The card, on the other hand, is turning out to be an absolute nightmare. Every time I get the damn thing running, the drivers just…like…STOP. And then a reboot makes Win2K go all amnesia – it doesn’t even know its a fucking WIRELESS card boys, it just says UNKNOWN_PCMCIA_DEVICE (jesus god fucking hail mary in a suitcase, you were just RUNNING the fucking card. How can you NOT KNOW WHAT IT IS???) and then it just kinda stops.
Well. God bless cat 5 and as far as the Linksys driver developers who released this abortion I say their heads go on pikes. Holy shit. You’re not developers, you’re dark shadows on the face of my weekend, and I hate you all with fire and bile. FUCK YOU.
(and i”m sure in my next post, I’ll be able to explain that it was actually all my fault which seems to be a common recurrence. But I wanted to use the rage feature and there ya have it.)

Take a deep breathe Grendel. Linksys stuff has not steered my wrong yet. I would recommend using their Free Live Tech support chat, this is how I got my original firmware for my WAP. So needless to say maybe its the card drivers or maybe its the Wap firmware. But before burning up and busting a nut I would seriously try the online support. They are usually very quick!! So sit back grab some java and you can get through this.
BTW- Thanks for the LW Shirt bro.. Am I to expect one every year now?
