Well after 8 years of owning my Viewsonic 19″ CRT the life expectancy has been steadily decreasing to the point now where after 2 hours of working on it, my eyes would be on fire from looking at it. After a tuesday morning chat with Grendel I decided that yesterday was the final day for my eye strains.
I read through all the reviews on which ones are the best etc… which I usually stand my ground on, but this time I ended up letting my eyes tell me which one was the best choice for me. So after gazing at probably 5 different models I ended up buying a SONY SDM-HS74P/B. My main decision beside the eye comfort was that this one had a DVI connection as well as the analog one. This ended up working great with my GeForce 3 Hercules card that has been sitting dorment in my gaming machine that I never use.

    Maybe they were sucked into the computer screen like in poltergeist…it is that time of year when stranger things have occurred (with Halloween and all). Or maybe Freddie or Jason got them….better yet…could’ve been Chucky…heard he was back! The monitor is really cool…just too damn bright…you need special glasses just to be able to see the screen. How is that going to help your already burning retinas?

    Brightness = Clarity
    Clarity = No eye burn!

    well kaplan apparently wants to suck my will to live by enforcing absolutely ridiculous project schedules and then giving me no option but to grind myself into lunar particles to create a web site from oh, circa 19-fucking-99 or something similar. Lotsa images as text. No text as text. No opportunity to switch stuff later. It’s really driving me insane. So I don’t get much of an opportunity to like, uh, “live my life” unless kaplan wants me to. but we all must be HAPPY. be HAPPY ALL THE TIME. or the little kapdemons will come and start biting my ears and nose. must be HAPPY. HAPPY HAPPY (backtoworkyou! backtoWORK!) HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY.

    I’m going to go to film school in India or something. This sucks.

    As for Phil, he’s like some kinda nuts-and-berries eatin golf club wielding eco terrorist now or somethin. I fully expect he and Erin to start making those little Bills fans sooner or later. THEN he’ll be spending time with his computer. I guarantee it. Till then, I recommend the ol’ cellphone. unless he sold it for a coconut with a string or something. ha!

    Oh – the monitor looks cool, dude. My eyes feel crispy lately. I’m into it for 2005. Let us know how it looks. I’m buying an electric guitar. Fuck it.

    I’m back. Just haven’t been spending too much time at the computer. It’s actually quite refreshing. Anyway, I dig the monitor. I guess I’m just not that bothered by using my old CRT to consider getting an LCD. Plus I like the screen real estate. Anyhoo, you’re check hasn’t cleared yet so I’m afraid this will be my last post until it does. Please bring your account up to date ASAP.

    Thank you,

    Wasn’t a question of wether or not to replace my CRT since it was just that bad on my eyes. The LCD’s are by far better on the eyes over a CRT, especially only having one good one, it just makes sense.
    Nice comment on the check…. But as you know I do not write checks anymore so that one must be a fraud that was sent to you as one of your apartment warming gifts by someone posing to be me. But since move more times than the Bills have lost in the past 4 years why should I keep sending money when I never get any invitations to visit!!
    Regardless, I would have sent it via PayPal… You should know me better than that Vott…. Get with it brother before I drive 3 hours and correct your brains thinking pattern…. LOL
