BitTorrent: it was nice while it lasted
I finally got a chance to mess around with BitTorrent this weekend and was able to peruse some interesting stuff. But it looks like the jig is up: sites I was leafing through yesterday are inaccessible or notices that they had to shut down are on the front pages, and articles at sites like The Register appear to confirm that the RIAA and the MPAA have stepped in to stop P2P servers.
I guess now we have to wait for the next UberGeek to come up with the next file sharing plan. I just don’t see file sharing going away, especially when it’s become such a staple of the tech-savvy community.

Well maybe the public sites will close down but the technology will still prevail.
To many other services (valid) use torrents now to distribute files. It will just have to be the underground sites that will work in the way hotline used to be. It seems thats all they can resort to.
