The Richest Man In Babylon
Gents, I highly recommend this book. The initial investment of $6.29 is well worth it.
SB Floodgates have opened
Today I was looking at the Snowbrain web statistics and was mezmerized by increase of viewers to the site.
Here are some details:
Detail -- March 2004 -- March 2005
------------------------------------------
Unique Visits -- 378 -- 1778
Total Hits -- 7912 -- 32254
Total Files -- 4523 -- 22507
Total Pages -- 3138 -- 23189
Total Visits -- 1158 -- 11143
So basically all the updates I have made by letting other blogs know when a new post has been made to SB has driven the traffic to our site over 100%. Big jumps since November 2004 this year (when I made these changes). So keep it up SB, other people are getting use from the site besides ourselves.
God switching to Open Source
Found an interesting article today showing how this one church desided to make the switch from Microsoft web applications (ASP.NET and IIS) to Open Source (Limux, Apache, PHP). Alot of good reasons why EVERYONE should be going to Open Source.

Jimmy Page Lives in My Amp
…well, sorta. A few months back I got an Epiphone Les Paul Standard to screw around with. The only problem was that I really didn’t know what amp to get and I wasn’t in a real rush to do it, so I picked up a Smokey Amp and played thru it for a few months. While cool, it really doesn’t pack any punch. Tried playing “Phantom Lord” or “Blitzkrieg” through it. Just didn’t work out.
I grabbed a Vox AD30VT yesterday at Manny’s Music on 48th street. All I can say is WOW. I have about eleven different types of amplifiers in this one unit due to the modeling that Vox uses on the amp. From a tech standpoint, it’s really really cool. I can play Clapton, Slash, Muddy Waters and Hetfield all in one sitting. Added bonus is that it’s got a tube so it isn’t all solid state, and I get that warm crunchy goodness.
I’m psyched to be playing again! Icing on the cake? I’ll be going to see Black Label Society at Irving Plaza in two weeks. Sweeeeeeeeeeet. And I hear Iron Maiden is playing Ozzfest this year too. I gotta go.
MuVo Micro N200

I got the white one. Product linky is here.
So first of all you’re going to ask “Dude, wtf is your Zen Xtra 60GB for?”. Well, yeah…I love my Zen. It’s awesome for my daily commute and for carrying those ha-yooge files home (I have actually carried the entire contents of my work machine home). But sometimes a man doesn’t need a hunk of metal weighing him down when he’s moving around NYC. I need to go sans Zen at times, yet to retain my sanity in NYC I need a mp3 player. Enter the N200. It’s tiny! Reeealllly tiny! And it sounds unbelievably good! And the features are wicked. And I think the Apple Shuffle is really, really annoying. And I love Creative’s stuff.
And I needed it. ![]()

Serendipity arrives at L202.net
I’m officially blogging. What am I going to use it for? No idea yet. I’m thinking of using it as a more project specialized space, for things similar to Paul’s Paulinux, etc. I might try to get Unity installed as well and try to integrate it in my site for kicks.
I also have installed PHPCollab, which looks very tasty from a Project Management standpoint. I’ll set up some demo accts so you can take a test drive if ya like…it looks very cool.
I’m still SB’ing, never fear.
