Doom: The Movie

Yep. You read it correctly.

The Rock will be starring as the lovable, “Sarge” and Karl Urban (Eomer) will be playing “Grendel Grimm” a.k.a. me, in the October release of DOOM.

I’ll watch it… by myself.

Once again, screw Fileplanet… download the trailer right here at home!

Wow…there suuuuuure are a lot more living people in the movie than there are in the game. In the game, all those silly humans are dead. And returning to life as evil zombie beasties. Ready for my shotgun. Just the way I like ‘em. :)

You can’t tell me it’s not gonna suck, dude. Similarly, I found out recently that God of War has been optioned as a feature film by Universal Pictures. That should pretty much suck, too.

And yep – I’ll watch em both. Remember the Mortal Kombat movies? Rock on, brother…

LOL Mortal Kombat. Dude, that was BAAAAAAAD.

I asked the mighty Google if It could give me a list of some other movies that were based on video games and here’s what I’ve come up with so far:

Doom, Alone in the Dark, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, House of the Dead, Wing Commander, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Heavy Gear, Medabots, an amalgam of Mario-based influences and Tron.

However, I thought Tron was a game that was based on a movie…

And here’s a great link that shows some box office figures for some of the films listed above.

Anyone care to rate these? I’d start with Tron (if it still qualifies) then Tomb Raider (Angelina Jolie) and Resident Evil (Milla Jovovich) at number three. :)

Strange… why can’t they just let the movies be movies and games be games?
Until someone makes a movie for Dan Dare, then I don’t want to know nothing. And yes, Mortal Kombat did suck, well as you guys stated they ALL DO.

Ya.. I’m with ya Rob… Let games be games and Movies be Movies.. But then again every freakin movie that does well seems to have a game that comes out soon after.

Thanks for the linkage phil.. I hope it it turns out to be a good show.
