Well, back in the day it was nothing to waste away hours of fun playing Doom on a 386. Not to mention all the cool mods/hacks that where available, like: Beavis and Butthead sounds, Evil Dead sounds, the BFG shooting as fast as your machine gun… Ah those where the days.
But now you can continue playing Doom on your Cell Phone RPG style.

Thanks Rob! You just added even more ammo to my reasons why I’m going to ditch Nextel and pick up Verizon in December. I’m sure the game will absolutely SUCK on the extremely limited variety of low-tech low-cool phones that Nextel is offering. Looks like it’s being developed in J2ME and Brew.
Although generally I think phone games are crap and a cheap way to market the hipness of phones (the playability is generally at the same level as a vintage Coleco handheld) they have to start integrating somewhere. Gad, if I see BeJeweled again I’ll puke.
I’ll visit Jamdat when it’s available, pay my five bucks, and play Doom on my cellphone just cause I can. Hells yes!
