Testing a post from Flock
So here I am in the new Flock browser…testing the posting mechanism. I have no idea if this is gonna work. But if this shows up, then you should know that I just posted this through Flock and NOT from the SB submission page. Here goes nothin!
QUAKE4 with tails?
Quake 4 has been released as you all know.
While at idSoftware’s site I thought to myself, I wonder how long it would take to port to Linux.
Well I did a little search and found this.
Already ported.
Enjoy.
Grandma Hardcore
OK, so I don’t know if this is real or not. But it’s too cool to pass up. I found this site thru CNET about this old lady who lives in Cleveland and plays video games. And kicks major ass at it, apparently. But that’s not the best part – there are actually videos of her playing said games. Best though are some of the quotes:
“He looks like a GIRL! What’s his name? WEIN? Why is he wearing a headband?”
“These people look fucking STRANGE. Why are the names German? This is not Germany.”
Go check out Grandma Hardcore. Read. Enjoy.
See Through Metal?
Thats right. The Air Force is testing a Transparent Armor called ALONtm.
I would love to replace my vehicle glass and home glass with this stuff..
Remember The Milk
I’m always sending myself links, reminders, addresses, etc via my Gmail account. Works ok, but it sure would be cool to be uber organized with a shareable task list? Enter Remember The Milk, a free online organizer that allows you to set up prioritized tasks, to-do lists, and reminders. Pretty schaweeeeet…
Gear Acquisition Syndrome
I’ve recently become re-acquainted with a very real, very troublesome personal problem. It’s called Gear Acquisition Syndrome. According to the aforelinked article, “…a loose definition of GAS would be the obsessive and irrational horse trading or purchasing of musical related equipment.”

ROBOFish!!!
Well I’m sure everyone has already heard about this. I Found it last week but have been busy with other things. However, I wanted to share this information.
Here is a link to the Article from the BBC that talks about the creators and the fish itself.
Here is a link to the Essex Robotics School Video Gallery of the ROBOfish and all of the revisions they have gone through to get to the very awesomely realistic ROBOfish.
I’d love to have a bunch of these in a tank or better yet in my pool (if I had a pool.)
Now that the robotics are down pat they need to work on the look of the fish. Possibly make it have a rubberised skin instead of metal. Still very very cool.
Enjoy.
