Jeremy Allaire, creator of Coldfusion and former CTO of Adobe’s Macromedia is poised to pursue his latest passion: Offering visual entertainment producers a chance to publish their works on-line. And with no startup fee.

Brightcove will allow users to upload their content to a server, set up their own advertising models and distribute that content to the internet world at large.

“We’re letting producers reach 300 million people instantly with high-quality video content and they don’t have to sign a contract,” Mr. Allaire said. “We say, ‘Use it, and if you are successful we are successful.’ ”

Although they are still working out their business model while incubating at MIT, it now looks like they will only require a small percentage of each producer’s advertising revenue.

Maybe we should register, http://www.snowbrain.tv. ;)
