Triple Boot a Mac?

April 17, 2006 · Posted in General, Projects, Tech · 4 Comments

Article here.

I guess my only thing with this is – why? Isn’t a user best served by only using one operating system – at max, two (with one of these being Linux)? And pardon me, but it’s my opinion that the average Mac user hasn’t the interest or inclination to run Linux OR Windows.* That’s what makes the Mac work – it’s simple, intuitive, and no-nonsense.

Kickass hosting?

April 11, 2006 · Posted in General, Projects, Tech · 1 Comment

I’ve had GoDaddy.com for a while, and it ain’t bad. But now my subscription is up, and I’d like to explore my options. I can get 2 years of hosting for like $133 which is fine – but GoDaddy kinda locks me out of the shell, which is bogus cause then I can’t install anything cool. Anybody got any ideas?

Bethesda: Don’t Step In The Horse Manure

April 10, 2006 · Posted in Games, General, Tech · 7 Comments

Bethesda software released a mod for their most recent uber-RPG Oblivion that allows the player to download and equip armor for a horse. Cool, right? Mos def – With one exception: players who want the armor have to shell out either $1.99 (PC) or $2.50 (XBox 360) for the mod. I’m just crushed at the thought of this business model catching on and bleeding into the market. With games starting to get so incredible, I guess it was just a matter of time before some wonderboy wants to withhold just a little bit of cool factor and bleed me nickel by dime to get the “full” game. And there’s more on the way

XP on Mac?

April 5, 2006 · Posted in General · 6 Comments

Well Not sure if everyone knew about this but a few weeks ago there was a person that had figured out how to get XP to load onto the Intel based iMac and MacBook Pro. It does work and is a DUAL Boot option. However, Apple has just announced that they will not support this and has released there own version.

Apple Intel Cord Duo XP BootCamp Linkage

They are calling it BootCamp. From what I can tell it is will be very nice and of course only work on Intel Based Macs. Currently they are the iMac, MacMini, and MacBook Pro.

I think that this is a good idea. I’m someone that uses both and have done so for a long time. The thing I’m waiting to see is maybe a way to be able to load up the XP partition within OS X and XP to load OSX. This would be heavily used by myself and others.

We shall see what is to come.

One step closer to Mac OS X onto a PC platform.

Car Wreck!

April 5, 2006 · Posted in General · 5 Comments

So Monday I got home at my normal time for my first job. Played with the kids, changed clothes, and then headed out to the second job. Was almost sideswiped by this white lady with short blonde hair in a white 2004 Honda Accord with no tint.  She must have been about 50 years old on her Motorola Razr v3 driving by herself. So to avoid getting hit from her dumb ass self I pressed the brakes and moved as far as I could to the right. I did manage to get otut of that but was slammed into from behind. I was going about 5 to 10mph and was hit by an 88-90 Pontiac Firebird going about 30 – 40mph.

I have pictures of my car and his from my cellphone and will have them up online tonight. Yesterday (Tuesday) I took off and got some sleep and went to the Chiropractor. I have whiplash but it is minor. The worst part of all is that it took the Police over an Hour to get to the scene.

The other driver got a ticket for follwing too close. After the hit we moved off the road and into a parking lot. I see that his bumper and wheel well is touching the tire. I said man if you want to drive your car home you better get that off the tire or the Police will have it towed. His first words out of his mouth to me was “I KNOW WHAT THE FUCK I’M DOING!” So I back off. Let him try to pull them apart with his hands. Ya right! I walk over to get his information and he whips out a 2 foot long crowbar. I then walk back to my car and say nothing in fear of getting hit with that crowbar. I then prys the bumper and metal away from the tire and was able to drive it home.

The Police report will have all his information and i will have to pick that up on Thursday or Friday. Then get my car fixed under his insurance and my Chiro work on his insurance also.

Car wecks are so damn fun! :(
