Tour de France
In case you missed this year’s Tour (and victory by Floyd Landis, American cyclist), OLN TV is showing a tour recap on Sunday July 30th at 7pm ET. Landis was extremely impressive; after securing the yellow jersey, he bonked out on the second mountain stage in the Alps and lost 8 minutes. That should have sunk him and he was effectively dismissed as a likely winner…
The very next day he hit the throttle on the final – and most difficult – Alps stage, smashed the competition, rode out in front of everyone immediately, gained a huge lead on some huge mountains, and rode to the finish alone. It’s worth a look to see a fellow American beating the odds and coming back in the face of total adversity. It’s an amazing feat, highly recommend you check it out. I was glued to the Tour over the last 3 weeks every night and it’s a really, really cool race to watch. I was very inspired.

Love the tour.. sadly I never really watch it but I always checked the daily updates. I used to ride when I was younger, even entered a 22 mile race once… most the riders around here where pretty ignorant and rude, but than again I was a newbie.
Talking about tech stuff Grendel… you bought a bike? thats techy too man… I salute your purchase!
Nice bike!
I was actually one of the (seemingly) few people in my circle here following the Tour. That being said, exercise via street riding is HUGE in Cleveland. It’s everywhere. In fact I probably see just as many riders as I do runners. There’s a ton of ‘em.
yeah i didn’t catch as much as I wanted to, but I checked in from time to time. Glad to see another American took that shit once again;) Good to see the US dominating in a european alternative to America’s bread and butter sports.
sure wish ‘Big George’ Hincapie could have taken it all though!
I must say tht I have not really ever followed the Tour nor have been in a Bike Race. I’m more of the Freestyler. Doing tricks and jumps and stuff kinda guy. I have been thinking of getting another bike and riding again. Would be fun and nice exercise.
When will they learn
Well, that was a big waste of time. Thank God Football is here: where everybody takes steroids and wants to kill each other. I like a level playing field.
