DROBO
If you have not heard of Drobo yet then you are really missing out. I would love to get one of these to test, review, push it to the limits, and yes own more than one for all the stuff I have. Go here to check it out and make sure you watch the demo video. Your going to want one or two.
Basically it is a hotswappable storage robot that always protects your data via Virtualization. You can read more on there page. Very very cool product.
Now thats how things should work.
Keeping things simple is the way computers should work. But I cannot see spending $700 on this YET!! Maybe for the business owners of the world, but a little pricey for personal use.
This is AWESOME…but I’m with Rip – the price kinda stung me when I looked at it. I’d go for $300, but for $600 I’d rather go with separate external enclosures and build my own array. At least the technology is coming.
Just wanted to inform that DROBO has reduced the price from $699 now to $499.
