So I’m looking around online today with the 5 minutes I have while drinking my morning Coca-Cola, I see my beloved Multi-Touch Interface System that I have been following for well over a year now show its head again. Now instead of it being on a wall it has made itself into a coffee table type of housing.

I’m all for it being as a coffee table. Makes since in order for it to be used in the home or business as a kiosk or something. Then I read a little further and then see the Devil’s name (Bill Gates.) I hurry through the rest and find out that Jeff Hans has sold out to M$. However, I believe that he would be smart enough not to sell his work just straight out to M$. I think that he is allowing them to use his interface as a partner.

Well even if the system will have the M$ branding I would still be interested in it because of the futuristic styling and feel. Microsoft is calling it Surface. Because Mirosoft really didn’t create any of this I think it has a fighting chance. Of course the initial price is going to cost a left nut ($5,000 – $10,000) but for the future of computers and controling things creatively I think it is a very exciting step. Not just for M$ but for computers in general.

Personally I wish that Apple would have been able to join Jeff Hans with getting something like this, but I’m sure Apple will have something to answer it. ;)

Here is a link to a video I found on it being used.

PS – I would link to all of the old  Multi-Touch Interface System posts I have made previously but the Search part is screwed up.

Enjoy,

One Response to Multi-Touch Interface have gone to the Devil?

Thats too bad, although I wouldn’t consider Gates a Devil, he is too much of a nerd to be awarded that status.
