Things just keep getting worse for Apple.
Not only was I one of the stupid ones that waited in line for this phone that has honestly had nothing but issues. From the numerous firmware updates (3 of them to date) of which NONE have made any improvements on my battery life.

Now they have a recall on the Power Adapter that shipped with the iPhone 3G as apparently the metal prongs can break off and get stuck in the electrical outlet creating a risk for electric shock. Gee don’t you think that would have been thoroughly tested by the company that made them?

In my opinion Apple is so greedy that its willing to ship a product that ‘they know has issues’ just to get their revenue pumping and then deal with the issues as the customers complain.

They should spend less money on advertising and more money on their QA department.

Now I have to wait 3 weeks for a replacement adapter and am urged to use a USB cable to charge my phone, so this is another inconvenience for me… Way to go Apple.. A 1st time customer with nothing but bad things to say about your product!! Woo Hoo!!

One Response to iPhone 3G Power Adapter Recall – What’s Next?

I feel your pain. I too have to have my Adapter replaced. However the adapter compared to the original ….NO CONTEST its a better design. So some idiots can’t take a wall plug device out properly. I’d go for the smaller device over the one 2-3 times the size.

The battery life well. It’s hit and miss. If i turn off emails, 3G, WiFi, and only use the phone to talk with I can get days of enjoyment at most a full week. But if I leave WiFi on, 3G on, Text, Talk, Surf internet, Watch the WootOff, check myspace, check my emails, and play a game or two. I have to charge the phone around the time frame of half a day or every full day. I think its time that we go to using a new makeup of battery. No more Lithium Ion. Lets make something new and more charge.

However, I can’t complain about just one aspect. I love the phone. There are far more good than bad. I mean i would love Copy&Paste, Voice Command, Landscape keyboard at anytime, run applications in the background, capture video with audio, have the ability to see flash websites….Oh should I go on.. LOL.

I will say that when i use my phone it works. Sometimes every once in a while it will freakout. Thats ok. Its way less of an issue than WM5. I have my 1st gen iPhone and its rock solid with the latest firmwares. Its fantastic. So what it doesn’t have GPS or 3G. Its a beast and doesn’t give me crap with a long battery life.

We will see how much I still like the iPhones when I get my HTC Diamond touch Pro (aka AT&T Fuze) in a few weeks. ; )
