Buffalo Theory

The Buffalo Theory - by Cliff Claven (Cheers)
“Well ya see, Norm, it’s like this… A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That’s why you always feel smarter after a few beers.”

Skull in the Clouds

Last Saturday I took this photo right before a Strong Thunderstorm rolled in. These clouds are called Mammatus Clouds. I did not notice the skull in there until I opened this up days later on my phone.

iPhone 3G

Well, they made enough enhancements for me to finally want to buy an iPhone. So this morning I woke up at 5am and just knew I should head out to the store early just in case. I arrived at the AT&T store around 5:45am and was happy to see I was the 12th person in line. Luckily there was a Panera Bread opened right next store which allowed me to get some coffee and a bagel.
The people waiting in line where using Panera Breads outdoor tables that where equipped with umbrellas which worked out well during the on/off rain during my 2 hour wait.
At 7:55am everyone started to line up towards the door and nicely enough they would only allow 6 people in at a time as there where 6 clerks working the counters. By the time I got to go in ALL the 16GB models where sold out already and there where some pretty irate customers complaining, but each store only received so many of each model. Regardless I was only buying the 8GB model so I didn’t honestly care. The process was simple being a current AT&T customer, so with that said I was out of the store by 8:30am with the phone fully working.
As soon as I got to work I configured my Exchange credentials and all my emails/contacts where synced up in seconds. See things can be simple.
I haven’t been able to test it out fully as I am working a full day.. I may post a review in a couple weeks, but as for right now, this thing is fantastic.

Wassup everyone!

I stumbled on this a while back and managed to get onboard the beta testers team. I have used it a while now and just today looks likes xobni.com has released it as a public beta. I must say that if you have to use Outlook then install xobni to get the full benefit of Outlook.

BTW - Xobni is just Inbox spelled backwards. ;)

SB is 5 years old

As of 4/18/2008 Snowbrain is officially been running for 5 years.
Not much to say, we started with 3 members and got up to and still have 5 members but with everyones lives changing (jobs/kids/hobbies) there is not as much time for blogging for everyone. So I would foresee most the activity this year being mostly from me. Which is fine as I know my other members still check in from time to time and leave comments as needed.
Heres to another year!!

Below are the previous links to celebrate this day:

Default Ringtones

March 20, 2008 · Posted in Humor · 1 Comment

Going back to my post on Sound/Smell proofing my cubicle the 1st bullet point is to turn your cell phones on vibrate mode. It seems most of the sales people in my office refuse to do this, but now I have determined that they are just to stupid to know how their phones work because most of these people still use the default ringtone that came with their phone. As of right now the T-mobile one is my least favorite. Everytime I hear it ring and it rings frequently, I am tempted to take the phone off the desk and whip it against the wall leaving a note with $100 saying go buy a new phone as this one broken, the ringtone wouldn’t stop playing jackass!!
Read the Manual next time.
